Carles Puyol Supports Orangutan Rescue Campaign

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has long been known as 'Tarzan' because of physical appearance and hair.
Spaniard's 33-year-old gave full support to efforts to rescue the species of orangutan from extinction.
Puyol was replaced when Azulgrana 5-0 win over Levante in advanced Spanish Primera Liga last weekend. However, he will most likely fit the total when facing Real Madrid in El Clasico derby this weekend.
Puyol good personality not only shown on the gridiron. He gives great sympathy and concern to environmental conditions. He approved the name used for orangutan rescue campaign.
According to the International Animal Rescue (IAR), now just 66,000 orangutans in the jungle, some are in the islands of Borneo and Sumatra in Indonesia. NGOs stated, current development and the destruction of nature can create different types of apes, including orangutans will be extinct in 20 years.
In the campaign, Puyol makes a statement: "They are important to me, how about you?"
IAR party figure Puyol hopes to build awareness about the importance of maintaining many species of orangutan.
"Figures like Puyol can help awareness about this issue," said lead IAR Indonesia to Spanish news agency EFE.
"Football is very important in Indonesia and he is very well known figure, the player who won the World Cup last year. He also had a great personality."
